Divorce

A couple can separate. A family, especially when there are children, simply reorganises itself.

Book a first meeting

Separation is rarely a single moment. It is a long road that begins well before the decision and continues long after it: the divided home, the children's schedule, the holidays, the first years in which each of you learns to be a parent on your own.

It can be, at the same time, a liberation and a loss. And when there are children, the bond between former partners does not end; it only changes shape.

Areas of work

Before the decision

To stay or to leave. Sometimes, before making any decision, you need to be able to think without pressure from the other person and without everyone's advice. Ambivalence, wanting to leave and fearing the emptiness at the same time, is not weakness; it is how deep bonds come undone. Couples counselling →

How we tell the children

What we tell them, when, together or separately, how much. Children need to hear that the separation is not their fault and that their relationship with each parent continues. When adults stay silent, children build their own explanations, and their explanations often put themselves at the centre.

The child between two parents

Divided loyalties, messages passed through the child, the guilt of feeling good at the other parent's home. When parents fight, loving one of them can feel to the child like a betrayal of the other. Some children then hide their joy; others take one parent's side so as not to lose them. Children suffer less from the separation itself and more from the conflict that continues after it.

Parents, no longer partners

Continuing to make decisions together with someone you have separated from, without old wounds entering every discussion about school or holidays. Mourning for the couple, when it is not lived through, often moves into the conflict over the children.

After the separation

Grief over the relationship, loneliness, the identity that comes afterwards, a new relationship and its place in the children's lives. Separating also means taking back the parts of yourself that you had placed in the other person. Grief and loss →

Who it is for

What my experience is made of

I am a clinical psychologist licensed in Romania and a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in training. I have also been through a divorce myself, with the griefs and challenges that come with it.

I take no one's side; I work so that the separation does not destroy too much, in either the parents or the children, so that grief can run its course without harming what matters most: each parent's relationship with the children.

How it works

  1. Write to me using the form below or by email. A few lines are enough; there is no need to explain everything.
  2. I reply within 1–2 working days and we arrange the time of the first meeting together.
  3. The first meeting, 45 minutes long, at the practice or online, is devoted to understanding the situation. Only then do we decide together whether and how to continue.

The framework

Sessions last 45 minutes and take place at my practice or online: individually, with both parents or with the child, depending on the situation. The counselling I offer aims solely to accompany and support healing; for this reason, I do not carry out assessments or write reports for the court in custody proceedings. Fee: 250 lei / session.
